Last night, the Dunedin Consort, directed by the brilliant John Butt, played all of the pieces shortlisted for the final of the NCEM Young Composers Award 2015. The performances of all the pieces were stunningly beautiful. I am delighted to announce that I have been crowned the winner of this years 19-25 category prize. The two winning works (18 and under and 19-25) will be premiered by the Dunedin Consort in Glasgow on Friday 2 October. This concert will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Early Music Show at 2.00 pm on Sunday 1 November 2015. Joshua Urben’s Fractos Corde was awarded the prize in the 18 and under category.
